The bird managed to get away, but the snake is right outside our portal...not an easy feeling.

Yes, Susan...it is a rattlesnake. It has been hanging around the past few days; makes me a little nervous.
And you were near that snake???? I am such a panic-stricken person with even garter snakes, even though spending years in rattlesnake territory. I'd have had to be a mile away to take a photo.

The bird was pretty flustered, but managed to escape. It came back this morning and seems okay.

Oh my, this is quite the duo...I can't stand the idea of a rattlesnake right outside your door...an image comes to mind of that snake with a bird lump down his throat...or maybe rattlesnakes don't eat birds?
