Bloomin' Mushrooms

The mushroom is the elf of plants
At evening it is not;
At morning in a truffled hut
It stops upon a spot

Loses and Renewals

Blaze (b. September 21, 2001; d. May 18, 2012)
When Blaze died in May, it broke our hearts.

Apollo (b. June 25, 2012)
Apollo is helping to mend them. What a joyful gift he is!

Memorial Day Honoring War Dogs

While I'm not a proponent of war, I so honor and appreciate those who serve our country, including Man's Best Friend.

Mothers Are the Gardeners

 Mothers are the gardeners
of wind-blown wild flowers.
They water them with happy tears,
Happy with them many years,
Even as the hours
Ring with sweet, sad melodies
Sighing through their bowers.
 (I have this poem in my book of special, saved poems, but there is no author listed.)

Sedona Secret Revealed

When I first glimpsed this home in Sedona, AZ I was livid.
Who dared to "spoil" the landscape?
Then I thought maybe I'm just a wee bit jealous because...
I'd sure love to live here (but only if I have a housekeeper
and groundskeeper).
I was curious as to who owned this perfect spot when...
lo and behold a comment on one of my photos from a kindred spirit
had the answer.
Go here for it.

Scroll through the beautiful photos until you, too, find the
secret revealed.

Fierce Rabbit

"This is a fierce bad rabbit;
look at his savage whiskers,
and his claws and his turned-up tail."
--Beatrix Potter
Not really...but try telling that to my dog;
he chased the poor rabbit away...

Bottomless Pond

While some men believe in the infinite,
some ponds will be thought to be
bottomless.
~Henry David Thoreau
