This fire at Los Alamos, NM scorched a section of the Tech Area 49, used for a series of underground tests with high explosives and radioactive materials.
Here, the sun tries to penetrate the smoke at Los Alamos. Hopefully they'll soon get the fires under control.
Isn't it amazing how something so deadly and damaging can be so beautiful with a little help from the sun? I too hope all is under control soon. xo
ReplyDeleteJeanne, These are beautiful shots. You should upload them to NBC or another news show "Beauty in Disaster."
ReplyDeleteJudgement day feeling in your shot J. One day mankind will destroy the world, unless the world decides to destroy us first. So far no news have been broadcast to us about this accident, I hope there were no casualties..
ReplyDeleteNo casualties; everyone has been evacuated. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's an unusual sight and color.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots - although not of a beautiful event. Sometimes natural calamities like this present great photo ops. I heard on the news that there are no imminent threats, although quite a number of people have been evacuated as a precaution.
ReplyDeleteWell... luckily it did not happened in the Area 51, I am a little bit concerned about the well-being of E.T. ;)
