Newborn

My blog friend, Teresa, from North Carolina (http://somanywords-teresa.blogspot.com) asked me to play along and have some fun so here I go. Okay you guys, wanna' join the fun? Here's what to do:

1. Open your first photo folder
2. Scroll to your 10th photo
3. Post that exact photo with its story
4. After you've done that, tag 5 people to play along.

Here's the story to go with my photo:

In the 1990s, we lived in Mill Valley, CA, just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. One weekend we decided to drive to Point Reyes Lighthouse. For those of you who do not know, Point Reyes is the windiest place on the Pacific Coast and the second foggiest place on the North American continent. On the drive from our house to Point Reyes we crossed a long stretch of farmland. This particular day we came across a cow in labor. We stopped and I took photos (she didn't seem to mind). I have some pretty interesting photos of the birth, but I'm supposed to post the 10th photo in my folder, so you're spared the actual birth process (see how carefully I follow directions).  This photo was taken after the newborn arrived in the world. The mother tried for nearly ten minutes to get the baby to stand and I was getting worried, but the blessed event finally occurred. That baby stood on all fours, and the wobbly legs held. It was a joyous moment for all.

Now for my five tags:

Hubby finally got son's car dug out of the snow.
Hubby's efforts exhausted Blaze.

I Heart Valentine's Day

Taking a break from snow photos today. This post
comes from last year's Valentine's Day. Will never forget walking
out the door on February 14, 2009 and seeing this leaf
in the flower bed. Nature's gift!

A Not So Pretty Picture

This was taken from my iphone.
They finally got here to plow the driveway.
We have snow from ground to roof line.
Think this pile will still be here in June?

Digging Out

Trying to dig out
so Blaze, the dog,
can get outside
to do his duty.

Our picnic table
on the deck
disappeared under
the snow.

Somewhere out
there in the driveway
is my son's car. Anyone
have a clue where it is?
